TRICIA TRAVIS

Ms. New Mexico, Tricia Travis Tricia Travis was born in the desert of the Southwest and has always been active in music, performance and leadership. While attending San Jose State University, she was selected as a singer/dancer for a USO Tour that traveled the seven western states. She taught school for six years, one year at the Frankfurt International School in Frankfurt, Germany, before starting a small publishing company specializing in school science materials. Her innovative methods were published in Science and Children and Instructor Magazine.

As an author, Tricia received reviews in numerous publications including Barrons and the San Francisco Examiner for her first book on long Economic Cycles published by Harcourt Brace in 1981. She returned to the University of Kentucky and at age 50 received a Master's Degree in Economics and a Master's Degree in Diplomacy and International Commerce at the Patterson School at UK. Her second book was published by John Wiley and Sons in 1991. Tricia was one of the first authors to suggest the use of intuition as a guide to making business decisions.

A  Vice President for Lynch Marketing, an International Trading firm, Tricia has traveled to over 30 countries and was selected to be on the Founding Board of Governors of the Lexington World Trade Center. She is also founder of the Single Society for the Arts, a member of the Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Cultural Arts Advisory Board, leader of the Arts Park Initiative and served 4 years as President of the Cypress Point HOA, representing 333 homes to local government agencies in Pompano Beach, Florida. She has been listed in Who's Who of American Women.

Tricia's musical career, a thread throughout her life, led her to Europe where she sang the music of the American Songbook at the Arabella Grand Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, the Ritz Carlton in Barcelona, Spain and the Manor in England. She spent a year songwriting in Nashville, and these efforts culminated in the release of her album, Easy Love, a collection of original songs in the style of American Jazz - Bossa Nova, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her music has been played on numerous Jazz stations and she was invited to join the Performing Rights Association, SESAC.

Tricia is a mother of two daughters and a grandmother of two grandaughters and her interests include yoga, writing, classical music, photography, voice over, fashion design, theater, travel, and history.
